Regimental Drum Major Competition

Surely the most visible member of any Scottish Highland bagpipe band is the drum major. Their colorful and elaborate uniforms must be worn to the highest standards of authentic dress. They must lead demonstrating a bearing, control and dignity which sets a majestic and dignified tone for their entire band.

Our competition is in two parts giving contestants a chance to demonstrate mastery of both dress and leadership. In the late morning all contestants will ‘stand’ a dress uniform inspection where our judge will award and deduct appropriate points. In the late afternoon all contestants will be awarded points based upon their demonstrated mastery of leadership and marching skills including voice and mace commands while being accompanied by live pipe band music.
